The one night a year where people all around the world countdown the seconds to celebrate the end of one year and the start of the next. This annual event is celebrated all around the world in many ways either in small cafes with some friends or with thousands of people at your Capital Cities main New Year’s event. If you still don’t know how or where to celebrate your New Year’s Eve this year, here is a list of some of the most popular New Year destinations you need to experience at least once.

Burj Khalifa at New Year

The Burj Khalifa is one of the most popular places to celebrate the new year, especially in the last few years, and it is no surprise when looking at the extravagant length it goes to! The fireworks display lasts twenty minutes and has a great number of viewing spots to get an incredible view of the display. The most popular viewing spot is the fountain of the tower for a viewer who enjoys the crowd and is willing to come early, this would be perfect. The Black Palace Beach is a brilliant alternative to the Burj Khalifa, perfect for those who prefer a quieter atmosphere. Its distance from the tower gives you a chance to enjoy the glittering sky without all of the noise and traffic.

London and Big Ben at New Year

In the UK, the heritage and chimes of over 100 years of celebration is felt through the crowds and streets of London. Each year thousands of people gather to watch the fireworks display from The London Eye. Catch a boat along the River Thames or line the streets of Westminster for an incredible view. The chimes of Big Ben welcome in the New Year, echoing its history throughout the streets of the city announcing the start of a new year with the fireworks glitter in the sky. If you have a chance to grab a ticket, you’ll be able to stand amongst the crowds or you can join in through the live broadcasting with friends and family.

Brazil at New Year

Brazil offers you a chance to be a spectator to a beautifully spiritual celebration the people engage in every year for good luck. The magical feel of this celebration can’t be missed as you see a woman walking out of the ocean as she portrays Goddess Lemanjá. The people offer Lemanjá gifts of flowers, perfume, jewellery and candles with the hope that she will grant them their new year’s wishes. Ten platforms are placed out at sea and are responsible for an epic 15 minute fireworks display.

Sydney at New Year

Welcome in the New Year on a Harbour Cruise in Sydney, a favourite amongst locals and tourists, enjoying a lavish dinner spread, free flowing alcohol and the best on-board entertainment. With unmatched views of an incredible fireworks display that is not to be missed! There are two fireworks displays to enjoy on New Years Eve.
